What county, friends, is this?
Looking for some different views? Alex will lead a brisk walk southeast of Macclesfield, so be sure to sign up. We recommend bringing a head torch just in case it gets dark before the very end of the walk.

3 Ships and a tower on some edges (Birchens, Dobb and Gardoms Edges)
Join David for a 7.5-mile walk full of stunning views. It will involve a combination of roads, steps, grass fields and trails. But don’t forget to look up and enjoy the surroundings!

Riber, Dethick, Lea and High Tor Circular
Hop on a bus to Matlock and join Liam for a 10-mile walk through some villages and gardens that are hopefully starting to bloom. The highlight (literally) will be High Tor!

Spring Equinox-ish Stroll
It’s time for one of Miranda’s favourite routes — this time to celebrate the start of Spring. The walk will be 7.2 miles, which should be long enough to hopefully spot some lambs along the way.

There's a whole programme of events running over the weekend, but the Saturday night ceilidh with the award-winning Melrose Quintet – who sing while playing their vibrant mix of lively dance tunes – is sure to be one of the highlights. Check them out on YouTube if you don't believe me! (NB also known as Melrose Quartet depending on members singing/playing at the time).
Buy your ticket at https://tickets.sheffield-ivfdf.org.uk/
See you on the dancefloor!

Out on a limb
For those who like to sleep in, Alex will lead a walk from Millhouses Park up to Ringinglow. But don’t be fooled by the late start and proximity to the city, because this is a 12-mile walk with a gentle incline pretty much the whole way!

Book club #8 - Great Expectations by Charles Dickens
If you enjoy reading, why not come along to the book club to try reading and discuss a variety of books with a group of people.

I wonder how, I wander Wye
Through moderate in distance (8.7 miles) and ascent, Emma’s linear hike will be relatively fast-paced and therefore suitable for those with a bit of walking experience. Starting from picturesque Bakewell, there will be lots to see on this route.

It’s time we (Der)went there again!
Another walk to Derwent Edge? Yes! Follow Miranda up a short but steep incline to start off this 10 mile walk. With a lunch stop at Back Tor, you’re in for some good views.

A walk to stroke a Goat
Kamila will be leading a leisurely 6-mile walk that starts from Millhouses, gets you to some cute animals, and then back to the start. A lovely way to spend a dreary mid-February Sunday.

Upper Don Trail
If you’ve been wanting to walk the Upper Don Trail, this is your chance! Nick will lead this fast-paced 13-mile hike, so good shoes and base fitness are required.

Ladybower Circular
A longer, more strenuous 10-mile walk led by Jacob for those who want to get a good amount of steps in. Depending on the weather, the walk may be shortened to 8.5 miles, but hopefully we’ll catch some sun reflecting off the reservoir!

Learn to Lead! Fox House to Hathersage
A 6-8 mile walk and training event to develop navigation skills and find out what’s involved in leading walks with the group. No experience necessary, all welcome!

New Members / Pub Meet
A social for all members or those wanting to find out more about the group.

An edgy hike
With a classic start at Fox House, Fiona has planned a 9-mile moderate walk past a bunch of edges: White, Curbar and Frogatt. Very edgy indeed!

Let's Get Ready to Ramble (Eyam Circular)
Bryn’s walk is easy to reach by train and will take you through moors, over hills, and into the village of Eyam.

Board Games at the Pub
Still too dark for a weekday walk? We’ve got you covered! Join us for a night of dice-rolling, card shuffling and questionable rule-bending as we venture to the RUTLAND ARMS to play board games!
We have a private room above the pub and they serve good cheap food and drinks, so feel free to order food if you fancy!
Got games? Bring them!!! I have 3 games (Scrabble, Ticket to Ride, Bananagram) and the pub has a couple too, but if you have something you think the group will enjoy please bring it along! Let us know in the comments if you are bringing something.
Can’t make it? Don’t fret! We will be trying to repeat this social regularly throughout these darker months.
See you there!

Avoid the Bikes, Enjoy the Views, Embrace the Moor!
Join Jacob on this local, circular walk from the Norfolk Arms. Bring some good boots to trek through the potentially boddy moors. And be sure to rehydrate back at the pub!

Silkstone, Cawthorne and Cannon Hall
Keen to get out of Sheffield for a bit? Then sign up for this walk led by John, who will take us through farmland, villages, past a dam and into Cannon Hall county park. Lots to see!

Tickhill walk before Ramblers Area AGM
Join us on an easy history walk organised by the Doncaster Ramblers in Tickhill. The walk will finish on time for us to join the Ramblers Area AGM.

Win, Lose or Draw
Miranda’s scenic drawing walks have become a regular happening within the Sheffield Walking Group. Whether you have any artistic talents or not, be sure to bring some drawing materials and enjoy in the views.
