The uphill battle before the downhill drinking
What’s better than a cold pint on a warm weekend day? A cold pint on a warm weekend day at a beer festival in a traditional pub after a 7-mile walk led by Jacob. Just make sure not to drive and take the train instead!
Langsett Reservoir and North America
Enjoy this 5-mile Sunday morning walk led by Kamila. You’ll get to see Langsett Reservoir, North American ruins and an optional pub or café at the end.

Five Weirs Walk (Sheffield to Meadowhall)

Head South to Mount Famine

Mayfield Meander
David A. is leading this 8-mile walk at a leisurely pace. It’s a classic route starting at Endcliffe Park, past Forge Dam to Bohe Hill and back. Sign up if you’re ready for a day out not too far from the city centre.

Eyam & Offerton Moors
Up for a longer, 9-mile weekend walk? Follow David W. from Hathersage over some moors and back. If the weather allows it, the views will be quite good on this one.

I don't hike Mondays
If you’re in Sheffield over Easter, this 11-mile walk is worth making time for. Alex will lead the group from Totley through the countryside and back to finish at a pub. Do check the bus times, as it’s a bank holiday!

It’s a Good Friday for a Bakewell to Monsal Hike
The best thing about a bank holiday weekend? More opportunities to walk! We’re starting off the Easter celebrations with Emma’s 9-mile route along part of the Monsal Trail.

A random Thursday to Forge Dam
Soak up some evening sun on this 5-mile walk through Porter Valley with Kamila and other walkers. The perfect way to rewind after a day of work.

Section 2 Sheffield Country Walk
The evenings are getting longer and so are the sections of the Sheffield Country Walk led by Lotte. Getting home from Totley, where this 5.3-mile walk ends, should be very easy, though!

Hopping through the valleys: egg-sploring Loxley and Rivelin
Serena is leading her first walk through some of Sheffield’s most scenic valleys: Rivelin and Loxley. This 7-mile walk is easy to get to by tram, so mark your calendars!

Easter Egg Hunt!
Hidden around Burbage moor are 3kg of chocolate eggs. Can you find them? Work in teams to navigate to the finish to win even more eggs!

Ponderosa Preambulation
Time for another 2.3-mile evening walk in the centre of Sheffield led by David. You only need 1 hour to get some steps in by wandering through Crookes Valley Park and Weston Park.

Section 8 Sheffield Country Walk

Section 10 Sheffield Country Walk
This is the second walk in the Spring Weekday Walking Challenge, where we’re completing all 10 sections of the Sheffield Country Walk on weekday evenings. Lotte will take you along on the 4.3-mile walk that is section 10.

Padley George, Higger Tor and Burbage valley
You might recognise the route, because Mollie is leading another 8-mile walk from Longshaw Estate to Higger Tor and back via Burbage valley.

A short walk in Totley
Regardless of your definition of ‘short’, this 7-mile walk led by Lee is a good way to start your weekend. Take a bus to the south side of Sheffield and enjoy the views.

Heading over to Bolsover (Castle)
If you like castles, you will want to join Bryn’s 8-mile walk to the impressive Bolsover Castle. Free parking has been arranged in Palterton near Chesterfield, so please coordinate car shares.

Cholera & Clay Wood
What better way to end the workweek than with a Friday evening walk? David is leading a short 2.5-mile stroll starting and ending at Sheffield Station.

Weekend Away: Dolgellau (Snowdonia)
A return visit to Snowdonia, this time we are in the town of Dolgellau in the southern area of the national park.

What county, friends, is this?
Looking for some different views? Alex will lead a brisk walk southeast of Macclesfield, so be sure to sign up. We recommend bringing a head torch just in case it gets dark before the very end of the walk.

3 Ships and a tower on some edges (Birchens, Dobb and Gardoms Edges)
Join David for a 7.5-mile walk full of stunning views. It will involve a combination of roads, steps, grass fields and trails. But don’t forget to look up and enjoy the surroundings!

Riber, Dethick, Lea and High Tor Circular
Hop on a bus to Matlock and join Liam for a 10-mile walk through some villages and gardens that are hopefully starting to bloom. The highlight (literally) will be High Tor!

Spring Equinox-ish Stroll
It’s time for one of Miranda’s favourite routes — this time to celebrate the start of Spring. The walk will be 7.2 miles, which should be long enough to hopefully spot some lambs along the way.
