Our first weekend away of 2025 is a local one, to the far reaches of the Peak District. Famous for attractions such as Dove Dale, Chrome Hill (“The Dragon’s Back”) and The Roaches, it’s nice to explore those local places we rarely visit for day trips.

Our first weekend away this year is to the bottom of Helvelyn, the third highest mountain in England. Join us in the Lake District from 8-10 March 2024.

The National Young Ramblers are organising a weekend get together for Rambler members 20, 30 and 40 something Ramblers. It is being held in York.

It’s weekend away time, yay! For our 3 night, 4 day holiday we’ll be heading to the lovely National Trust Exmoor Bunkhouse (https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/holidays/exmoor-bunkhouse) in North Devon. Based on the fringes of Exmoor National Park and a short drive to the coast it’s the perfect place to mix moorland hiking with coastal paths and beaches. We’ll do a mixture of walks you can join or you can do your own thing.

Come and join us for a cheeky weekend away in marvellous Malham. Tucked away in our own bunk barn just 2 minutes’ walk from the village, we will see the sights of the Yorkshire Dales by day and enjoy the local pubs or board games in by night

Keswick Mountain Festival is a unique event offering a fantastic mix of outdoor activities and live music in the Lake District. There is a varied choice of sports (trail runs, triathlon, swimming, cycling and hiking), activities and entertainment aimed to inspire all ages and abilities. Set in one of the most beautiful parts of the Lake District; it’s a family friendly outdoors festival for everyone to enjoy.

Come and join us for 3 nights of fun on the edge of Snowdonia National Park. By day we can hike from our doorstep, take a leisurely stroll in the Conwy Valley or go to Adventure Parc Snowdonia for an adrenaline fix. By night we will be tucked away in the hills in our private bunk house for food, laugher and games.

Two-day/one-night hike from Matlock through the Derbyshire Dales and the Southern Peak District to Eyam. Roughly 25 miles over two days on a mixture of footpaths, farm tracks, fields and country roads. Overnight accommodation will be in shared rooms in a bunk house that we have booked exclusively for us. Camping options are available too.

As a committee we’re trialling a book-your-own-accommodation option so I’ve only reserved a ten-bed property in Aviemore. The property has two double bedrooms with a further three rooms with twin beds plus a big kitchen and a decent lounge.

We've booked a number of dorm beds and camping spots at the YHA in Borrowdale for three nights from Thursday 19th August. We have reserved 16 places in total.
