A return visit to Snowdonia, this time we are in the town of Dolgellau (“Dol gethlee”) in the southern area of the national park.
Booking opens 3rd February 2025
Price £75 (£70 for regular volunteers, £65 if you lead a walk this weekend
Places available: 19
Walks in the area include mountains like Cadair Idris, the forest Coed-y-Brenin, and famed short walks such as the Torrent Walk and the Precipice Walk, with easy access to the Cambrian Coast at Barmouth. We have exclusive use of the very cosy looking Plas Isa guesthouse, with small bedrooms and a large garden.
Weekends away are only open to Ramblers members. You will need to arrange your own transport, although the group will try to put people in touch to arrange lift shares. There is no hostel car park, but on-street parking may be available, and we will have a few permits for the long-stay car park about 2 minutes’ walk away. As Dolgellau is a significant town there are a number of buses available, with Machynlleth the easiest place to change from a train. The hostel also has storage for 4-6 bikes, please let us know when booking if you want to use it.
We have access to the bunkhouse from 16:00 on Friday, but you are welcome to arrive at any time after that. Some people like to travel early to make the most of the day, while others prefer to travel after work. The finish time will depend on how long any walks on Sunday take before returning home.
