Full description:
It’s International Women’s Day, so we are celebrating by holding our 2nd ever women’s only walk, open to all women and those who identify as women.
Starting in Edale, we’ll follow the Peninne Way to Jacob’s Ladder, where a very steep climb will take us to the edge of the Kinder Scout Plateaux. We’ll then head south across open moorland towards Rushup Edge and Lord’s Seat. If there’s time we’ll pop up to the summit of Mam Tor for 360 views, before heading back down into the village of Edale for a well deserved drink and rest.
Please note this is a fairly challenging walk if you are new to hiking, and you will need a reasonable level of fitness to attend.
What to bring
Please dress appropriately and bring plenty of warm clothing and waterproofs, as it can be very exposed at the top. Walking boots are strongly advised. Please also bring a packed lunch and plenty of water.
Public transport or car sharing options:
Catch the 10:14 train from Sheffield to Edale, arriving 10.46. Return trains are hourly. Depending on speed, we should be back in Sheffield around 5-6pm.
