Come and join me on a little adventure up on to Bleaklow where we will be doing a little bit of scrambling, bog jumping, finding plane wrecks, visiting the kissing stones of the peaks and admiring the surrounding views of Bleaklow, Kinder and Manchester.
The three plane wrecks we’ll see are:
C-47 Skytrain - crashed 24th July 1945
Lancaster KB993 - crashed 18th May 1945
Superfortress B 29 - crashed 3rd November 1948
The start of the walk consists of climbing a valley with a little scramble so it’s advised to bring plenty of food and water to keep you fuelled up. Please wear walking boots for this walk and, if you have them, bring your gaiters.
