8-mile linear route. The eagerly anticipated return of an SWG tradition, The Great Fire of Ringinglow returns in 2021!
Dig out your warm clothes and head torches and join us for a special evening walk this bonfire night. We'll begin the walk at Grindleford station in the Peak District at 18:30 and will work our way back to Sheffield from there. We begin by ascending Padley Gorge, passing Fox House and then crossing Houndkirk Moor where we can take in the view of the fireworks across the Steel City. We'll then call at The Great Fire of Ringinglow event at the Norfolk Arms for a chance to warm up by the bonfire and where there'll be a chance to grab a hot snack and drink. Feel free to bring some sparklers too!
Once we're suitably warmed up we'll continue the journey back to Sheffield by following the Porter Valley to Hunters Bar where the walk will end.
This is a night walk so please ensure you have the suitable equipment. A head torch is essential for this event.
