Walk Description
Starting in Calver, we first head towards Eyam, a picturesque village haunted by its history of bubonic plague which arrived here in 1665, killing over half the population. We will pass several plague-related sites of interest, with the option of a cafe stop. We then head north along Bretton Clough, and skirt the edge of Offerton Moor before dropping down into the Hope Valley and the pub in Brough for a well deserved pint while we await the bus home.
Please remember to dress appropriately with warm clothes, sturdy walking shoes/boots and waterproofs, and bring a packed lunch to eat on the walk. Note: This is a linear walk, if you arrive by car you will need to arrange your own way back to the start.
