Our late summer weekend away is to Rhyd Ddu (“rid thee”) in the heart of Snowdonia, sitting right behind Snowdon, 80 metres from the start of the Rhyd Ddu path.
Booking closed
Price: £62 (£57 for regular volunteers, £52 if you lead a walk this weekend)
Places available: 30
It’s not just Snowdon: there are plenty of other mountains nearby, and the hostel is also near the Welsh Highland Railway, the scenic village of Beddgelert (as seen in Mr. Bates vs. the Post Office), and Aberglaslyn Pass (voted the most beautiful place in the UK by National Trust members).
Weekends away are only open to Ramblers members. You will need to arrange your own transport, although the group will try to put people in touch to arrange lift shares. The hostel is on a bus route, with the best train connections at Bangor.
We have access to the bunkhouse from 16:00 on Friday, but you are welcome to arrive at any time after that. Some people like to travel early to make the most of the day, while others prefer to travel after work. The finish time will depend on how long any walks on Sunday take before returning home.
