Starting in the village of Hathersage, this 9-mile walk will take us along the wonderful Stanage Edge with superb views of the Derwent and Hope Valleys, Mam Tor and Kinder Scout.
On the way to the Stanage Edge we will pass St Michael and All Angels’ Church, where Little John of Robin Hood fame is buried, and also take a little trip up Higger Tor to admire Burbage Valley. Once we have traversed Stanage Edge from two angles (you’ll see what I mean!) we will head back to Hathersage via North Lees Hall, a 16th century manor that is thought to have been the inspiration behind Mr Rochester’s home in Jane Eyre.
Hathersage has plenty of pubs and cafés for well-earned refreshments at the end of the walk.
