This session will be aimed at refreshing the skills learnt on the first session and confirming any questions before going on to real-life practice to promote confidence and ability.
The route will be approximately 10 miles starting in Edale and the session will cover:
1. Contour interpretation – visualising the shape of the landscape
2. Contour sections – recognising the basic slope shape
3. Identifying features – topographical features
4. Point-to-point navigation – moving on the plateau
Required equipment: Ordnance Survey OL1 map and a compass. You may be able to borrow them if you don’t have your own – please ask.
