Let’s Get Hillier: Go West! Where the hills are fine

  • Chinley railway station High Peak, England, SK23 6AZ United Kingdom (map)

Let’s Get Hillier is a series of walks that will gradually get longer and harder (i.e. with more ascent/descent) over spring and summer. The aim is to improve strength and stamina ahead of SWG’s 20th anniversary in July, for which we intend to run some 20+ mile walks.

A suitably hilly walk exploring some lesser-trodden areas of the Peak District as we head out under Kinder to Chinley. From here we will head up the Chinley Churn for views on to the west side of Kinder before looping around to Mount Famine and South Head on the middle slopes on Kinder’s west side. We will then make our way down Black Rock to the nice pubs south of Chinley. It’s about a mile back to the start after refreshment.
