Touching the edge if we try

  • Redmiers bus turn around Redmires Road/Terminus Sheffield, England, S10 4NH United Kingdom (map)

Leader: Alex T(07932210927)

Difficulty: Moderate

Start time:  11:40

Start point: Redmires Road/Terminus, Sheffield S10 4NH

Distance (in miles):  9

Full description:

From the bus terminus on Redmiers road we will try to follow the water conduits out to the reservoirs. Form here we will follow the pleasant looping path to touch the upper extents of ravelin brock. We then tackle a small cross country section before picking up the grouse paths (hopefully no shoot on or we may have to divert) to offside of High Neb. From here we will wall for a short distance along Stanage Edge before we dropdown though North Lees to Hathersage. The Walk will then finish at the Little John pub where hopefully there is a scrum for a pint. This will hopefully still be doing filling food and have the England V Samoa rugby on.

Public transport or car sharing options:

51 bus to the Redmiers terminus, I expect this to arrive at 11:34 (check times as they have ben changing a lot recently) and depart at whatever time it departs form where you get on. Return travel by train or bus from Hathersage
