Full description: On 24th April 1932 groups of Ramblers trespassed on Kinder which was privately owned at the time in order to highlight that access to the moors should be available to all. The photo shows a glimpse from 1932 compared to 24April2022 when we walked from Edale to commemorate the trespassers from Sheffield who walked on to Kinder.

The 1932 trespass paved the way to the creation of the Peak District National park which has benefitted generations of Ramblers / walkers / families /dogs etc…

This time we be walking from Hayfield rather than Edale with no more superheros. theatre company. They are particularly interested in the young group Jewish communist Mancunians who walked from Hayfield to take part in the trespass.

We are walking a relatively modest 5 miles (compared to what the original trespassers did). There will be some rough terrain and hills therefore good sturdy boots are a must. Please also be prepared for wet weather and bring a packed lunch / snacks and water.

Public transport or car sharing options:

If you able to offer lifts that would be much appreciated; please contact Sara 07905399225 to arrange.

Otherwise the 257 bus leaves Sheffield station 10:55 (correct per timetable published 3rd September) and due into Hayfield bus station 12:17. Return bus at 15:08 or more likely 17:08.
