Walk Leader: Marianna C (07845505145)
Difficulty: Moderate (9.3 miles)
Start/End point: Coleman's Deli
We will start in Hathersage, walking south to Grindleford Station, following the river Derwent. From Grindleford station, we will head towards Fox House, passing the Longshaw Lodge. Once we reach the Fox House, we will follow the path to the Burbage Brook Valley until we reach the road at Burbage Bridge. Once on the rocks, we will stop for a lunch break. We will then continue ahead towards Higger Tor, climbing the steps to the top, with its great views over Carl Wark, the surrounding moors, Stanage Edge and the Derwent and Hope Valleys. From there we will make our way back to Hathersage.
At the end of the walk there will be an opportunity to join me for a dinner/drink at the Little John pub as sadly, this will be my last walk for the group :'(. If you wish to dine with me please let me know by Wednesday 27th October, so I can book us a table.
Please bring packed lunch and plenty of water/hot drink.
Please wear suitable footwear and waterproof/windproof jacket as it can be windy on the Burbage Brook.
