Full description:

The best edge with the best rocks, so it’s time we went again. In a route which varies a bit from Jacob’s recent walk, this route starts us off at Hetherdene where we head up behind the Ladybower Inn with an almost immediate short but steep incline up onto Derwent Edge. Once we’ve caught our breath, we head on up past lots of lovely tors all the way to Back Tor where we’ll have lunch. After that we head to The Lost Lad, and as tradition dictates, we will take a photo of everyone looking for said lost lad. After that it’s down through farms and onto the track along the eastern edge of Ladybower, and straight to the pub.

Please note, the first incline is really quite steep and the ground can be loose, and the limestone flags on the path can get slippery when wet. Appropriate footwear is required, please wear something with good grip!

Public transport or car sharing options:

The 257 bus leaves Sheffield Interchange at 9:55 to arrive at the car park for 10:25ish. If you’re driving, the car parks fill up fast so please do give yourself plenty of extra time to find a space, and please give lifts if you can by offering space in the comments on Meetup.
