Full description: A circular walk along the west bank of Ladybower reservoir and the stunning Derwent edge with its sweeping views (cloud permitting) over the Dark Peak to the west and Yorkshire to the east. It has numerous spectacular gritstone tors including the Salt Cellar, Wheel Stones & Back Tor.
Note with it being January in the event of adverse weather high up on Derwent Edge an alternative low level route round the reservoirs will be taken. The route goes over heights of 500m so please come prepared for cold wet and wind. There is over 500m of assent as well as rough and boggy ground underfoot in places. With the days being short a fairly brisk pace may need to be maintained.
To attend you MUST bring the following:
Suitable footwear - Walking boots with ankle support and good treated recommended
Clothing to keep you warm (when stationary) and dry - Waterproof layers coat and trousers will be essential as will be numerous layers to keep you warm and dry including hats and gloves.
Food and Water to keep you going throughout - We will stop on route to have lunch so please bring it with you
