By River, Reservoir and Road

  • Malin Bridge tram stop Sheffield, England, S6 4NG United Kingdom (map)

This 10 mile (sort of) circular takes us from Malin Bridge to Bradfield and back again via the Damflask Reservoir. Starting at the tram stop, we’ll walk up the paths along the Loxley river to reach Damflask. We’ll then skirt the reservoir, stopping halfway round in Low Bradfield for a lunch break (bring food). We’ll then head back to Malin Bridge along the main Loxley Road, taking in the sights of the valley.

This is a pretty straightforward walk on mainly good, flat paths. There is a section down by the river where it gets very muddy, and we do have a short climb up a hill out of the valley up to Damflask. But otherwise it’s a good walk to get some miles in and have a chat without worrying about where your stepping or being out of breath! Though, I would still recommend some reasonable walking boots, wrapping up warm and bringing water with you.
