The summer edition of the drawing walk: we'll be stopping in 3 places en route for a relax and a draw of the things we see. No artistic skills or fancy materials required.

This walk sees us meeting in Ashford in the Water, making our way up to the Monsal Trail near Thornbridge Hall, then through one tunnel and over that viaduct. We'll drop down and stop for our first drawing session looking up at the viaduct. From there, we'll make our way along Monsal Dale and up Deep Dale, where (cow depending) we'll stop for another draw. After that we head over to Magpie Mine for an explore, and our final drawing stop before we make our way back to Ashford in the Water.

Please bring lunch as there won't be anywhere to stop for food on the way. And don't forget to bring drawing materials - it can be a lovely new sketchbook and a fancy pen, or the back of an envelope and a biro you found down the back of your sofa. There's also no pressure to draw, you can just come along and enjoy the views.

Public transport or car sharing options: 218 to Bakewell leaves Sheffield Interchange at 08:30 and gets into Bakewell at 09:37, and then the Red route of the Peak Sightseer runs from Bakewell to Ashford in the Water and leaves at 09:46. Alternatively, the walk from Bakewell to Ashford in the water is only around 1.7 miles.

Be prepared:

Please remember to dress appropriately for the time of year. A waterproof is always advised, as well as plenty of food and water. Please bring sun protection if required (sun hat, sunglasses, sun cream etc). Further information on what to bring can be found on our website here: https://www.sheffieldwalkinggroup.org.uk/be-prepared
