Full description:
Time to celebrate the shortest of days with a wander from Monyash to Arbor Low stone circle! We’ll be following the same route as the summer solstice saunter, along Lathkill Dale to admire it in all its winter glory, then up through my favourite farm full of fun animals, and on to Arbor Low. The circle itself is looked after by English Heritage - please bring a £1 coin as these are collected in an honesty box at the farm gate. We’ll have lunch at the stone circle, maybe join in the celebrations with some pagans, and then head back to the pub.
It will most likely be a bit wet and muddy. Trainers are not advised! Bring plenty of warm clothes, and something for lunch. Consider bringing something warm for lunch!
Public transport or car sharing options:
Car sharing only (no public transport), please use the Meetup comments to arrange lifts! Honesty box parking near the pub in the little car park.
