Based on walking speed of 2 mph, the walk should take around 5.32 hours and be back in time for the Christmas market, lights switch-on and fireworks.

Start/End: Matlock railway station

Transport: Catch the X17 bus at 08:40 from Sheffield Interchange (timetable says stand D4) – arrive in Matlock bus station at 10:04 and a short walk to the railway station. Last bus back is at 18:21 arriving back to Sheffield Interchange at 19:30.

If you want to do both the walk and social (Christmas Market) it would be better to car share if you know anyone who is going.
