Join me on this lovely walk around the beautiful Chatsworth House. We will meet at the Devonshire Arms in Baslow village and take the path signed to Chatsworth. We will enter the park by unusual revolving cage gate ‘The Cannon Kissing Gate’ and begin to ascend slightly following the footpath sign to Robin Hood. We will continue ascending through the fields admiring a herd of deer (if we are lucky :)) until we reach the river Heathy Lee Brook. We will then continue walking uphill towards Dobb Edge taking in the views as we carefully travel up the narrow path and along the edge. Eventually we will climb a stile into a field. Following a narrow path through fields and woodlands, we come upon the magnificent Hunting Tower with its cannons and park benches looking out over the Chatsworth House. We will then take the path through the woodland and eventually reach a spectacular 300-year-old cascade and a gushing waterfall in the rockery. Walking downhill we will take the path towards Beeley. Once in Beeley, we will head towards Chatsworth House following the river Derwent and then make our way back to Baslow village. Please wear appropriate footwear.
