A Sheffield classic by all accounts, according to the blurb the 15-mile loop 'goes from the urban to the rural at the southwestern edges of the city – taking in leafy parkland, woodland streams, and pretty suburbs'. There's more here.
I’ve not completed the full walk myself, so any help co-leading from someone who has would be welcome. Otherwise, just expect that we might have a few ‘detours’ if the signage isn’t clear.
We'll be setting off at 10.15 to give the Park Runners time and space to do their thing first. The walk has a few uphill bits (this is Sheffield), but it’s mostly good paths and lots of flat sections. It is a long day of walking (seven hours) so supportive walking boots/shoes are suggested, pack clothing for all weather possibilities and have some treats to keep you going. The aim is to finish in daylight, thanks to the lighter evenings.
All walkers are encouraged to share any Sheffield related facts along the way - true and made up but amusing ones - so we can get to know this rather fabulous city a bit better.
