Full description:
To celebrate the last of the dark evenings we’ll be going on an urban evening wander from Meersbrook park to see the Bishop's House, then we'll walk through Heeley, Highfield, Sharrow, Brincliffe and Nether Edge to visit some of Sheffield’s remaining sewer gas lamps. There will be hills (it is Sheffield) but no mud, and we’ll finish off in a pub not too far from the start.
This walk will start when it’s light and end in the dark, and we will be walking round some fairly well lit areas of Sheffield, but you can bring a head torch if you really want to.
Public transport or car sharing options:
This is a walk not too far out of the city centre. I recommend getting a bus to Chesterfield Road and walking the short distance to the park corner. The 44, 20, 10a and 25 all go in the right direction, but please check these yourself.
