Full description:
A lovely wander from Foolow, down through Cressbrook Dale to visit Peter’s Stone, get envious at the people who get to live in Ravensdale Cottages, down to Cressbrook Mill, and then along to Millers Dale to join the Monsal Trail before heading up to enjoy the view from Monsal Head for a cake stop. We’ll head back to Foolow from there to finish up at The Bull for a drink while waiting for a bus back.
We will also be joined by Emily, an MA student at Hallam who is working on a design brief around the adjustability of packs for Rab as part of her masters in Design for Performance. Emily will be quizzing us on all things adjustability and design in the pub afterwards. Please contact us if you want any more information. Those wishing to take part in this will need to fill in a consent form for Emily.
Please note: the footbridge at Cressbrook Mill remains closed while they raise money for a new one. This means some road walking (just over a quarter of a mile) to get to Millers Dale.
Public transport or car sharing options:
65 bus from Sheffield Interchange leaves at 9:35 and arrives in Foolow at 10:25. The only bus back is at 16:46. This does mean plenty of time for the pub at the end!
