Full description:
This delightful circular walk explores some of the lesser-known areas south of the city. Starting in Totley, we will take in ancient woodland and fields of the Cordwell Valley to discover some fine old 16th and 17th Century halls. Expect good views of North Derbyshire and Totley Moor along the way, and a few gentle climbs. There is a pub at the end of the walk where we can get a drink while we wait for the bus home.
What to bring:
Please wear proper hiking boots as I expect it will be muddy in places. Please also bring a waterproof jacket, plenty of warm clothes, a packed lunch and enough water/hot drinks to keep you going. Further information on what to bring can be found on our website here: https://www.sheffieldwalkinggroup.org.uk/be-prepared
Public transport or car sharing options:
Catch the 97 bus, which leaves Arundel Gate stop AG123 at 9:51am, goes along Abbeydale Road, and arrives at Totley Hall Lane at 10:21. Please check bus times yourself in case of changes. Other buses (such as 218 along Ecclesall Road) may be an option if you are travelling from elsewhere in the city. Return buses are ever 30-60 mins (approx).
Sign-up:
Sign-up for this walk opens 5 days before the event. If you sign up and can no longer make it, please be respectful of others and remove yourself from the event so that others can take your place. We request you do this ***NO LATER THAN 6pm*** the night before the walk.
