You know the drill - it's the best walk in the calendar :-P Join us again for this year's Bonfire Night Walk!!! Starting in Grindleford, we will head up Padley Gorge (take care - it will be pitch black!) towards Burbage and Houndkirk moors where, weather permitting, we should have spectacular views over Sheffield at night. We'll then stop for an hour or so at the Norfolk Arms pub in Ringinglow, where the bonfire will be lit, and there will be drinks, music, hog roast and other food. When we're all merry and happily fed, we will continue our walk by dropping into the Porter valley, and follow the Porter Brook back into Sheffield, finishing at Hunters Bar roundabout.
To attend this walk you MUST have a fully charged torch, preferably head torch. Anyone who turns up without this will not be allowed to attend. You must also bring plenty of very warm layers, full waterproofs, hat, gloves and scarf, as it can get very cold standing around outside. You have been warned.
Please also pack something to drink, and snacks to keep you going to the pub.
Public transport or car sharing options:
Catch the 17:14 train from Sheffield, arriving into Grindeford at 17:28.
Please note this is a linear walk so if you arrive by car you will need to arrange your own transport back to the start.
